Sights & Sounds

Cows are an everyday part of life where we live.
It is just normal to see these guys roaming free along highways, on sidewalks, wherever.
We still find it quite funny every time a cow (or donkey or pigs or any livestock for that matter)
cause a traffic jam because they are crossing the street.

The best part is that it doesn't even seem to phase people.
It is as if livestock are understood to have the right of way :)

Vegetables and Fruit
(better known as "Subzi" and "Phal" in Hindi)
Another joy of living here- freshly available daily at a very reasonable price.
What you see below will cost about 170 rupees all together... approximately $3.40

We were welcomed to the country during "Diwali" ~ The festival of lights
(celebrated the week of October 26th)
The short description: Christmas + 4th of July
AKA- Fun lights + LOUD fireworks- all night for a week
Oh yes- good times :)

This picture (above) is taken from our porch of some nearby houses.

Just up the road from us we have some beautiful mountains.
These shots were taken from a fun pizza/chai shop.
Gorgeous- huh?

We think so.
