Gideon Goes to Prom

On Saturday Gideon went to his Senior Prom
It was so fun to watch how excited he got... he was pretty much giddy!

Although the sweetest part was that in the midst of getting ready, picking up his date, meeting his friends, etc...
He wanted to make sure he got a picture with Levi.
He really does cherish our sweet boy~ It's precious and we love it.

~ HAPPY EASTER ~

Wishing all of our family and friends a HAPPY EASTER

Instead of an Easter Basket- we got Levi this little crate and filled it with some goodies:
aka- a sippy cup, a wipe clean bib, sunscreen, and some juice.
The crate collapses which will be great for packing along with us when we move!
I think he also enjoyed it :)



I also recognize that today is not all about baskets, chocolate bunnies and marshmallow peeps...

Good Friday marked a dark day when the God of the universe turned his face
from his Son, Jesus, as he began to face the agony of the crucifixion,
A crucifixion that he willingly walked through so that I could know the Father.
How powerful are those final words he uttered: "It is FINISHED!"
The Gospel is simply that: Jesus in my Place...
How FREEING is this LOVE?
I am liberated from trying to gain the love of God by my actions, but am invited to receive this love because of what Jesus did.

(Experiencing my love for Levi has really allowed me to see deeper into the magnitude of this sacrifice and the depths of God's LOVE)

As we know, the story doesn't end there...
TODAY we celebrate Christ's victory of death because he ROSE.
What a powerful statement~and that same freedom from the bondage of sin is offered to me!
How sweet it is to be loved by HIM... how much easier is it to LOVE Him in light of it all.

Six Months STATS update

Wednesday- April 20th Levi had his 6 month appointment

Here are his updated STATS:

Height: 25 3/4 inches (25 %)
Which means he only grew 3/4 in. in the past 2 months so we think this might be off.

Weight: 17 lbs. 7 oz. (50%)
We really thought he would weigh about 20 lbs. so we were pleasantly surprised :)

Head Circumference: 46 cm. (95%)
That's right- our kid is a brainiac already!

AND We've started solids- here are his first bites of cereal- Do you think he likes it?





YUMMY!!!!
We've also tried peaches and green beans... more tasty foods to come!

L.O.L.... no really... Laugh Out Loud :)

Of Course, Craig is the master at getting this little guy to giggle-
All he was doing was running toward Levi and I, and Levi just found it hilarious.
Forgive my video skills- I was trying to hold Levi and the camera at the same time :)
and I had to film without "seeing" what I was filming- it actually didn't turn out so bad!

What a wonderful 6 months it has been!



Our Precious Son
Levi Elliot,
Once again you have seemed to squeeze so many milestones/conquered feats into one month:

• You graduated to sitting up in your little bath tub and you L-O-V-E to splash :)
• Reach, Reach, Reach: for Toys, Faces, Lips, People- You are so good at reaching
• You are a really enjoying your toys and its a blast to watch you play!
• Sucking on your toes has become part of our nightly "toe time"
• Experienced your 1st St. Patrick's Day (you wore your "Lucky Shirt" thanks to Mrs. Jollie)
• Becoming more independent/content playing by yourself
  
• You hold your head up so well and LOVE looking all around
• Everyone comments on your "rolls"- and we are proud of them :)
• Rolled for from your back to tummy all on your own for the 1st time
• Noticed your shadow while playing on the floor- so cute
  
• You can really grab a hold of things: Good or Bad
• Almost sitting up on your own... soon enough
  
• Survived your first big road trip with Momma!
  
• Slightly mobile by rolling, and minor scooting when you are on your back or tummy
• Talking is one of your favorite pass times- and it is thoroughly entertaining
  
• And one of our favorites: Your SUPER BIG Grin that you always greet us with!

Road Trip

Last week Levi was my little side kick as we traveled on our first long Road Trip together:

We traveled from North Carolina to West Virginia to Pennsylvania then back to West Virginia
until we arrived back home in North Carolina last Sunday.

We got see lots of places and faces: Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Friends- Here are just a few:

We had a blast- thanks to all of those who hosted us.
We look forward to next time.

Together at Last

Today ended a long waiting period for Levi & I (Craig as well)
As of 10:05 this morning- Papa was BACK!

Levi had just woken up from his nap as we walked into the airport and Craig came out of the gate, so needless to say his smile wasn't as BIG as we expected since he was still trying to wake up :)

However, it wasn't long after being home that Craig was really able to see how much Levi truly had missed him. We all were sitting at the kitchen table eating lunch and Levi would not take his eyes off of Craig... and those precious smiles couldn't stay hidden any longer.

I am absolutely in LOVE with these boys!
I love that our family is back together again.



While Levi was sneaking in some cuddle time with Papa
Papa was sneaking in some sleep :)
(traveling, long flights, and a 10 1/2 hour different time zone takes it's toll on ya)

Regardless of how much I missed Craig or longed to be there with him,
I am so grateful that the Lord allowed Craig to travel on this trip.
He is a wonderful and strong leader for our family.

Also, there are two things I was able to glean from his absence:

#1~ "Absence is to love as wind is to fire... it blows out the weak but kindles the strong"
Craig and I have long quoted this to each other, but the truth in it never fades.
I thank God for the way he reminds my heart of how much I love this man,
our time apart "purifies" my heart from the "things" that cloud it in our everyday lives.
It allows me to re-kindle my respect & adoration for my husband.

#2~ It reminds me that God is truly the one I must depend on.
It is easy in the busyness of life to just place my attention and trust in my husband who is physically with me, however, he cannot be my sole source of strength and satisfaction.
That is a role that only my God can fill.
These times apart from Craig serve as a sweet reminder to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus.
May I always keep a passionate pursuit of my Savior, because only in doing so will I ever be able to truly love my husband and my son well.

My Beautiful Friend and My Boy

Today we celebrated My Beautiful Best Friend- Leah
and her sweet little girl, Olivia Joy, growing in her womb.



Levi was so excited to finally meet Aunt Leah
and (as you can see) he introduced himself by doing a heel hook on Olivia :)
We cannot wait to meet Livie-
Leah was born to be a mom... she will be great!
