REWIND: Back in the ol' Town

Ok y'all- Since I have lots of fun pictures that I am a "tad" behind at sharing with you ;)
I'm going to do a series of REWIND and RECENT posts for you.
Sound good?
I thought you would agree!

Well back in December, we traveled back to our language city... AKA our first "home" in South Asia.
The fun part about it was that we were actually able to stay in the very first flat that we lived in with some friends who are currently studying language there.
Fun, huh?

We LOVED seeing these snow capped mountains once again, just days before Christmas :)
So good for the soul!

Lots of familiar sights of our "every day" life just one year ago from when we visited :)

Neighborhood rooftops, Green trees, and lovely mountains!

The same corner we would often get an auto rickshaw to get around~ this time with a little more ease now that we have a years worth of Hindi practice under our belt :)

Some of my favorite ladies (all sisters):

Far left- one of my language teachers

To the right of me- my first house helper who taught me so many yummy South Asian recipes, and also enjoyed laughing w. me in the kitchen!

Far right- their sister from a neighboring city who was in visiting for the weekend!

Wedding #1-

Some other friends of ours also returned for the wedding of our second house helper, Meena!
(she was their previous house helper as well)
As many things happen to go in South Asia...
The wedding was scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM, but this show did not actually get started until
(eh hem...) 2:30 ;)

Reason being- the GROOM was on the train coming for the wedding and got hung up by fog.
Silly boy, who comes on the DAY OF your wedding? haha.
Oh well- we had lots of fun in the meantime:

Playing with old friends:

Snapping some fun Family pictures ;)
(What? You sure cannot stop this boy from being a BOY and having a ball with a bunch of rocks)

Finally, we took our seats for the wedding- smiling and ready!

You know we don't go anywhere without a SNACK:

It was a lovely wedding and my friend made a BEAUTIFUL Bride:

(Craig may have LOVED that her Father marched her down the aisle with a flannel on!!! )

Our little boy was quite tuckered out from all that pre-wedding running around & crashed before it was all said and done.

 The Bride & Groom:

In the middle is the bride for wedding #2:
And the groom for wedding #2:
(Like I said about Levi... boys will be boys?!?!?)

Some folks were a little confused at who was the star of the day- YIKES!!!
I think Levi had more pictures taken that day than the bride & groom...
Blond hair, blue eyed little white boys just don't go "unnoticed" in South Asia.

Another new friend- she was actually the little girl whose house we stayed in for our second 3 months in this city.

Then back to racing around the field with ALL the kiddos:

At the reception, you were guaranteed to find Levi with one of these two little fellows.
They were great "big brothers" watching after him :)

A very typical South Asian wedding photo-
meaning: it seems the bride and groom forgot to SMILE!!!
haha- ok they probably didn't smile on purpose... traditions are hard to break, right?
But don't you worry- they are quite a delightful and HAPPY couple.

Love this girl and am so excited for what the Lord has in store for her and her new husband!!!!

WAKE ... UP !!!!!

I know it may seem that we have once again fallen asleep on the job, but rest assured- we are still here :)
Just been a little busy packing and moving to a new city as we await the birth of Egg Baby #2!

Ironically, Levi also LOVES to find you sleeping (or make you pretend that you are) these days- just so he can come and yell "WAAAKE UP" and then get the biggest grin.
It's pretty stinkin' cute!

Now that we have some down time to rest & await this little ones arrival...
More updates and photos will be coming your way.. some will include:
- Our trip back to our language city & weddings
- Fun NEW news we found out while in Thailand :)
- More pictures with little pals
- and MORE
Stay Tuned....

Baking... Birthdays... Buddies... Blessed :)

One of our national friends kept telling me how his daughter kept asking for "Auntie's" cookies for her birthday...
So I told him that instead of me making the chocolate chip & toffee cookies for her, for him to bring her ("Ammie") to our house and I would teach her how to make them.

So on her birthday she spent the day with Levi & I:

She was such a great little learner- she listened to everything I said and picked it up so quickly.
She mixed up the dough, broke up the chocolate pieces and toffee pieces, balled them, put them on the cookie sheet, set the timer, checked the cookies, removed them from the cookie sheet when they were done and put them on the cooling rack... and of course enjoyed eating them!!!
She did such a GREAT JOB!

She was so proud :)

You know "someone else" just HAD to have his apron on to "HEEELP" :)

While the cookies baked, these two enjoyed playing:

 and coloring....
and we also took a walk and played at the park, then came back to color outside with some chalk.

After having lots of fun, her Papa returned with some dinner & CAKE!
So we sang Happy Birthday and celebrated together:

Levi was a fan of the cake... Surprise Surprise!
I think he ate a little bit of everyone's cake :)
U-u-u-u-ncle was his right hand man shoveling icing into Levi's mouth upon his request- such a grandparent (hehe).

Happy Birthday AMMIE!
Thanks for letting us share your day with you :)

Praying for your precious heart to one day know the One who created you.

Usual Sunday Morning...

This is a typical Sunday morning in the field behind our house:

Lots of folks gather to play or to watch them play cricket
(the popular sport here in S.Asia)

Sunday is the day everyone has off from work, so that is why they all gather and provide us with our very own ESPN LIVE ~ South Asia style:

Of course we still have our plethora of animals roaming...
it's just that on Sundays they get to run through the brush and the weeds :)

Looks like they even serve snacks & refreshments @ the games as well!
Better hurry & catch him before he gets too far down the road :)

"Guys, SERIOUSLY... isn't this SO cool to get to watch from our back porch? I think so!"

King of the HILL

On one of our "waaalks"- we passed this huge pile of gravel....
Well you don't think this went unnoticed by little BOY, do ya?

OOOOOOHHH NO, he INSISTED that he climb to the VERY top... so with a little help from Papa,
he accomplished his feat!
Gotta love Papas :)
He then proceeded to act as if it were a giant slide & slid down the rock pile
just like a BOY would do - Lol.

Another sweet moment happened during our walk home after climbing the hill...
PUPPIES!!!!
Looks like this little boy takes after his Papa~ he LOVED them :)

I think this MAY have made Papa's heart QUITE proud!
