March began with a trip to the beach....
Now close your eyes and imagine sitting on a beautiful, breezy, calm, quiet beach...
listening to the waves crash onto the shore...
Peaceful....
Isn't it?
Ok- Now open them...
Come on now, this isn't Nags Head folks, we are talking about South Asia...
So of course it had the appropriate South Asia touch :)
(I had to note the "Myrtle Beach" touches that we saw though- haha)
. Name on Rice .
. Lifeguard Hut .

Some similarity, huh?
And maybe some NOT so familiar touches:
. Anyone spot a single bath suit? .
. Vendors walking up & down the beach w/ their merchandise .

. Did I mention there were just a "few" people .
. This says it all, our lovely friends to share the beach with .
(Not to mention the mound of trash in the background)
. Beggar children .
Soooo... it may have been different than what I dreamed up in my mind,
but rest assured, I gazed upon all of these "surprises" with a nice chuckle.
(Trust me... I do love this place, and am so grateful for moments like these that crack me up)
See- we were still excited to be at the beach!
And it was all of our FIRST time at the Indian Ocean :)
So whether we were finding ourselves amused and responding with words like:
"Niiiiiiice".....
Or eating out at several fun beach front restaurants in the evenings

Or gazing out upon the beautiful ocean waves and sunset that our God so perfectly created

I would say our First South Asia beach experience was a success.
