. Little Clothes ... Line Dried .

One of the ways we have adapted to South Asian culture is we no longer have a dryer,
so instead we get to line dry all of our clothes.

I think there is nothing cuter than tiny clothes hanging on the line :)

And I can always count on my little helper to follow alongside of me as I hang them out to dry

I thought it would be fun to think through the likes & dislikes of line drying clothes
(I remember my mom doing it this way back in the day)
Here are some of my thoughts...
I know it's easier to think of all of the "bad" things, SO help me out & please respond with more of your ideas on what "good" things you like about it :)

LIKES:
  • Saves money & energy
  • I get to feel more "South Asian" by doing it- lol
  • Little clothes look cute hanging on the line
  • A sense of "accomplishment" when it's finished
  • ?????
DISLIKES:
  • "Crunchy" clothes & towels
  • No wrinkle release option like the dryer :)
  • Dependent on weather to cooperate
  • Smaller windows of opportunity to wash clothes (if you want them to dry outside before night fall)
  • Whites never seem to stay white (Oh wait- that just might be an India thing- haha)
  • ?????
OK- your turn, GO!

  1. Another positive: your house doesn't get super hot when you do several loads in the dryer!
-we hang dry most of our clothes too!

  2. Dislike ( in Africa): must let your clothes sit for at least 48 hrs after drying so the Mango Worm Eggs die on your clothes and don't burrow in your skin.
